Woodstock man wins $100,000 | Woodstock Sentinel Review – Ontario News

A 31-year-old Woodstock man and his family are celebrating winning $100,00 with INSTANT SIZZLING 5S.

“I purchased two INSTANT scratch tickets when I was running errands,” Nick Gillespie said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto where he picked up his winnings. “The second ticket I scratched was the Big Winner and I started shaking.”

The father of two called his wife right away and said he “couldn’t move.”

She began panicking thinking that something was wrong but Gillespie quickly told why he was momentarily paralyzed.

“I said, ‘I can’t move because I just won $100,000!’” he said.

Then he called his parents and his mother kept asking, ‘Is it real? Are you sure?’

Next, the 31 year old headed back to the store.

“I said to the retailer, ‘I think this ticket is going to shut down your terminal.’

After scanning the ticket and seeing the amount he won, Gillespie said “her eyes lit up.”

Gillespie, who is a teacher, said he has big plans for his windfall.

“I want to buy a boat. I love the outdoors and I have my summers off so this would be perfect. I would also like to travel west on a family vacation,” he said. “My wife and I have been talking about that for a while. Now it can happen. Winning the lottery gives us financial freedom.”
