POLICE: Sticky fingered thief | Brockville Recorder – Ontario News

A maple syrup thief is on the loose as police responded to multiple complaints over the last two days.

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Leeds County said Friday they have responded to three separate thefts incidents on Kitley Line 3 in Elizabethtown-Kitley Township where maple syrup equipment was stolen.

The incidents took place over the period of March 29 and 30, and on each occasion, buckets, lines, and taps were stolen from trees close to the road.

At each location it appeared as though sap would have been taken as well as the buckets, police also said.
