A 20-year-old Brockville man was arrested early Thursday morning after police received several domestic-related complaints since Sunday afternoon.
Police said on Thursday morning, shortly before 1 a.m. a 911 call from a female victim said she was at the uptown Quickie store and then the line disconnected. Officers eventually located her vehicle at a north-end apartment building she and her boyfriend had been known to frequent.
Officers went in the building to find the victim and the 20-year-old accused inside the apartment, where he was arrested for breaching his bail conditions from a March 26 domestic assault arrest involving the same victim.
During that incident, police say the couple got into an argument at the woman’s apartment that turned physical, resulting in minor cuts to the victim.
Another domestic arrest
A 24-year-old Brockville man was arrested Wednesday night for domestic assault allegations dating to last summer.
On Sunday afternoon at around 5:30 p.m., local police received a call from the 22-year-old female victim, who is the mother of the couple’s child, asking for information about a family court-related matters because “she felt unsafe,” police said. When officers arrived and spoke with the young woman, they learned of a pattern of domestic abuse dating back to last summer when she was pregnant with the couple’s child.
Police said the incidents escalated from verbal to physical, and after their investigation they determined assault charges were warranted and made several attempts to locate the accused over following days. The suspect was found Wednesday.
