Parking lot burnout burns teen driver in South Frontenac | Ottawa & Region – Ontario News

A teenage driver who smoked his tires in a burnout from a Sydenham parking lot obviously didn’t impress the Ontario Provincial Police officer who was on traffic safety patrol nearby.

The teen lost his licence and lost his car for his fast and furious effort.

The incident occurred Tuesday at about 12:30 p.m. when the officer watched as the teen spun the wheels of his silver Chevrolet Cavalier and fishtailed out of the parking on Wheatley Street in the Village of Sydenham, which is in South Frontenac Township, about 25 kilometres north of Kingston. The stunt took place just a few metres away from a crowded sidewalk, police said.

The driver was stopped by the officer and had his licence suspended. His car was impounded for seven days. He was also charged with stunt driving.
