Early Tuesday morning, Woodstock police responded to reports of a stabbing in the Adelaide Street area.
Officers were told a man had suffered a stab wound to his left abdomen. The injured man had knocked on a nearby door and received minor first-aid from the homeowner. The Good Samaritan contacted Oxford County paramedics, and the injured man was taken to hospital.
As a result of the Woodstock Police Service criminal investigations branch investigation, officers arrested a 39-year-old Woodstock man for assault causing bodily harm, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and failure to comply with an undertaking. The suspect was held in custody and appeared in court Wednesday.
