Forest Glade Fireplaces gets new Windsor building – Ontario News

From functionality to flair, a fireplace adds warmth to your home in more ways than one.

“It’s more about comfort and coziness these days,” says Tom Li Causi, who owns Forest Glade Fireplaces with his wife, Susie. “And these days, as Canadians, we’ve become more accustomed to having a fireplace and having the family room a tad warmer than the rest of the house without having to jack up the furnace to be comfortable.”

Since opening in the community in 1984, the business has continued to grow and flourish. Tom and Susie will soon be passing along the torch to their son, John, who is currently the business’s manager. Their daughter, Cathy Chimienti, has also helped with the business over the years, especially with the design elements and displays throughout the store.

In 1984, the inspiration for the business came about when Tom and Susie owned a hardware store in a plaza on Forest Glade Drive. They began selling fireplaces, and when they realized the local market and demand for the products, they decided to begin a business selling fireplaces first and foremost. That’s when, in 1998, they moved to a 2,500 square foot space at 11400 Tecumseh Road East and became Forest Glade Fireplaces, selling wood and gas fireplaces, as well as barbeques – offering installation and service for all their products, as well as running gas lines for other appliances.
