Easter Seals Telethon Sunday at Central Park Athletics | Windsor Star
The 35th annual Easter Seals Telethon goes live Sunday at 10 a.m. with the goal of raising just over $209,000.
Spokesperson Afshin Ali said the annual fundraiser allows the organization to provide financial assistance for children 18 and under who require wheelchairs, walkers, communication devices and other equipment.
Proceeds are also used to send kids with physical disabilities to Easter Seals camps where they can participate in a variety of activities including swimming and art classes.
Kara Ro will host the event, which will be broadcast on CTV and live-streamed on WE tv.
Ro will be joined by this year’s Easter Seals Ambassadors Brigid Kidd and Morgan Bennett-Murphy. Kidd, 11, is a student at Talbot Trail elementary, while Bennett-Murphy, 18, is studying social work at St. Clair College.
There will also be free public skating during telethon hours, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Central Park Athletics, 3400 Grand Marais Rd. E. Donations will be accepted.
Donations can also be made online at www.easterseals.org.
