SAUGEEN SHORES –
Two Saugeen District Secondary school students earned top three finishes at the 13th Regional Technological Skills Challenge at various Owen Sound locations March 24.
SDSS student Jazzmyn Munn placed second in the Culinary category, and Colton Heipe placed second in Electrical Wiring.
Over 100 Bluewater students competed in eight categories, judged by local experts in a diverse range of trades related industries. Fifteen Bluewater District School Board students advanced to the Skills Ontario Qualifying Competition in Barrie April 1.
As well, over 20 additional Bluewater students qualified as direct entry competitors at the Ontario Technological Skills Competition in Toronto May 2-3.
Last year, Bluewater students who advanced to the provincial challenge won three Gold medals, one Silver, and one Bronze. One of those students also represented Ontario at the national event in New Brunswick where they secured Silver.
