Baseball bat used to smash doors, camera – Ontario News

Baseball bat damage

A baseball bat was used to damage an apartment door during an altercation Wednesday afternoon.

City police responding to a 911 call were told other doors in the building were damaged, as was a surveillance camera in the lobby. A suspect was located.

Christopher Troy Barr, 33, of Hunter St. W. was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and four counts of mischief under $5,000.

He was held in custody and was to appear in court Thursday.

Knife and screwdriver

City police went looking for a suspect after people reported a man shouting profanities and making threats on Murray St. Tuesday morning.

Officers found someone matching the description on George St. A search turned up a screwdriver and a knife.

Adam Robert Miller, 39, of Water Street, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and uttering threats.

He was held in custody and was to appear in court Thursday.


Weapon arrest

A 54-year-old man was on his front porch Wednesday evening when he got into an argument with a man he knows.

It’s alleged that the other man hit him with a patio chair and damaged his jacket. Police were called and the 54-year-old was taken to hospital.

Brian John Stokker, also 54, of Romaine Street, was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and mischief under $5,000.

He was held in custody and was to appear in court Thursday.
