The Peace Regional RCMP will be hosting a free infant and child car seat clinic on Saturday April 1.
According to Transport Canada, nearly 10,000 children are injured – some of them fatally – in traffic collisions across Canada every year. According to the department, surveys show that up to a third of Canadian children are not properly restrained while they are travelling in vehicles.
The Peace Regional RCMP will be holding a free clinic to give parents the opportunity to have their car seats inspected for proper installation.
The clinic will take place between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. on April first at the First Baptist Church located at 8602 98 Street in Peace River.
The RCMP will not be issuing tickets during the clinic, and encourage all parents to take advantage of the opportunity in order to ensure that their car seats are properly installed.
